Anyone between the ages of 18 and 65 who is an MTN Mobile Money customer and resident in Cameroon can subscribe.

How much does Hospicare hospitalisation cost?

Collection frequency: Monthly and annual

  • Monthly premium amounts for grouped life AND hospitalisation cover CFAF 500 per month CFAF 700 per month CFAF 900 per month

What type of claim can I make?

A claim can be made under any valid hospital and life insurance policy, subject to HospiCare's terms and conditions.

What types of coverage are available?

HospiCare offers coverage for:

  • Death (payment of a benefit to the beneficiary).
  • Hospitalization (financial compensation for stays of at least one night due to an accident or two nights due to illness).
Are there any waiting periods for cover?
  • There is no waiting period for death or hospitalisation due to an accident.
  • For hospitalisation due to illness, the waiting period is 7 days for monthly cover and 30 days for half-yearly and annual cover.
How do I make a claim?
  • Dial *294#.
  • Select the 'Claim declaration' option.
  • Provide the necessary information (dates, reason for hospitalisation, etc.).
  • Send the required documents (death certificate or hospital discharge letter) via WhatsApp.
How long does it take for benefits to be paid?

Benefits are generally paid within 48 to 72 hours of receipt of the necessary information and documents.

Is there a limit to the number of claims I can make?

Yes, an insured person can make up to 3 hospital claims per 12-month period, while only one claim is possible for the death benefit.

How do I know when my cover expires?

You will receive an SMS from MTN so that you can re-subscribe (pay your insurance premium).
